Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
My name is Amanda Duarte, I’m 13 years old, and I live in Union, New Jersey. I’ve been passionately training in Shotokan Karate, a traditional Japanese martial art, and I aspire to represent the United States of America on the Olympic Team at international competitions organized by the World Karate Federation (WKF).
My next competition will be in Venice, Italy, in December 2025.
This prestigious international tournament brings together the best young athletes from around the world, including those in Taekwondo and other martial arts. Competing at this level is a huge honor, and I’m training hard every day to proudly represent my country and my community.
To make this dream possible, I need to raise funds to cover travel, food, and accommodations for my chaperones (hopefully my mom and dad) and me! Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping me step onto the international stage. Donations can easily be made by clicking the donation link on my website – https://adkarate.com/donate-today.
As a thank-you, every sponsor will be listed on my website ADkarate.com, where I’ll also be sharing photos and updates from my training and the competition. You’ll get to follow my journey and see firsthand how your support is making a difference.
Whether you can give $10 or $100, every contribution helps and brings me closer to my goal. Thank you for believing in me, supporting youth sports, and helping me chase my dreams!
With gratitude and high kicks,
Amanda Duarte

The US Capital Classics China Open was amazing! I am incredibly proud of my performances and results, especially as a girl in the competitive world of Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo. Despite pushing through pain in my heel this weekend, I still came out on top! It’s always so great to see my teammates and friends, and I can’t wait to keep pushing for more and improve on what I could have done better. I am also proud of myself for making EVERY grand championship and winning 3 out of 4 of them, which is a great accomplishment as I aim to be on the Olympic Team someday! 🏆 Overall 13 & under forms grand champion 🏆 13 & under CMX forms grand champion 🏆 13 & under Traditional forms grand champion 🏆 13 & under traditional weapons grand champion 🥇 13 & under traditional challenge 🥇 12-13 traditional forms 🥇 12-13 traditional weapons 🥇 12-13 musical weapons 🥇 12-13 musical forms 🥇 12-13 extreme forms 🥉 12-13 extreme weapons.

In the quiet town of Kenilworth, New Jersey, a young martial artist named Amanda embarked on a remarkable journey that would shape her future. At the tender age of 5, her friends introduced her to Karate World, a local dojo led by the esteemed Master Jeff Dunn. Little did she know that this fateful "buddy day" would ignite a passion for Shotokan Karate that would propel her to incredible heights. With unwavering support from her parents, Amanda eagerly embraced her newfound love for karate.
At just 6 years old, she entered her first-ever tournament, Master John Chung's World Cup in Virginia. Overcoming her nervousness, she stunned both herself and the audience by winning first place in her division. The triumph didn't stop there, as she added another first-place trophy to her collection that day. Even as a white belt, Amanda fearlessly competed in the grands and secured a remarkable second-place finish, competing against participants up to 17 years old. As she continued her martial arts journey, Amanda transitioned to Taekwondo, where she earned her coveted black belt at the age of 10. However, a year ago, she made the bold decision to switch back to Shotokan Karate, seeking new challenges and opportunities for growth.
Joining Team Revolution proved to be a pivotal moment in Amanda's career. The camaraderie and unwavering support among teammates transformed them into more than just a team; they became a family. With the generous support of their sponsor, Century, who provides them with top-notch gear, Amanda and her teammates are always ready to showcase their skills on the mat. Driven by an unwavering commitment to her craft, Amanda dedicates herself to rigorous training. Six days a week, sometimes even seven, she pours countless hours into honing her skills, pushing her limits, and striving for perfection. This relentless work ethic sets her apart from the rest, propelling her closer to her ultimate goals.
While martial arts remains her primary focus, Amanda also has a few hobbies that bring her joy outside the dojo. She cherishes her time at the beach, finding solace and inspiration in the vastness of the ocean. Long walks offer her a chance to reflect, clear her mind, and find balance amidst the demands of her training. Looking ahead, Amanda has set her sights on some extraordinary goals. At just 12 years old, she aspires to try out for the Junior USA Karate Team, eager to represent her country on an international stage. However, her ultimate dream is to make it onto the USA Karate Olympic Team and compete in the Olympic Games, where she will have the opportunity to showcase her skills and inspire the world. Amanda still finds joy in creating Tik-Toks, allowing her to express her creativity and connect with a wider audience.
As Amanda's journey continues to unfold, her determination, passion, and unwavering spirit serve as an inspiration to aspiring martial artists, especially girls like Duarte, worldwide. With each step she takes, she brings herself closer to realizing her dreams, reminding us all that with dedication, sacrifice, and an unyielding belief in oneself, anything is possible. Amanda is proof that even the smallest beginnings can lead to the grandest accomplishments. Her journey from Karate World to Olympic dreams is a testament to the power of perseverance and the pursuit of one's passion.
